REVIEW ON STORY:
Well the story begins with
introduction of Shiva near Manasovar Lake and he was invited to Meluha (land of
Suryavanshis) by Nandi where he became the Neelkanth, the God of Gods. He then
falls in love with Lady Sati and came to know about the evil Chandravanshis and
the Nagas. The somras manufacturing factory at Mount Mandar in which Brahaspati
was killed and Shiva revenged for it by defeating Swadweep, the Chandravanshis
and later realises that it was the Nagas attack to destroy the somras. He then
travels to Kashi with Sati where Karthick was born and then comes to know about
the Nagas origin and the Emperor action while a Naga child was born to Sati. The
hooded figure known as Lord of People was the Naga child born to Sati named
Ganesh. Sati also has a Naga sister named Kali who was abandoned by her father
the Emperor Daskha. Everybody lives as a family and travel to Panchavati to
know the secret of Nagas. In panchavati he meets Brahaspati and knows about how
the somras became evil and kills many lives in Branga. Then he teams up with
other kingdoms and destroys the evil somras in Meluha in which he lost his
love, Lady Sati. He also gets help from the Vasudev Pandits and Vayuputras to
destroy the evil somras and preserve it until the somras is wanted for the
good. After losing his love, he became sad and never laughed. He lived up to
his destiny with Sati’s memory and died in Mount Kailash.
The author Amish has a very interesting
narrative style. The story is based on the Indian mythology and all the
character names are familiar which are heard in the stories of Gods. The three
volumes have many interesting lines which can be accepted by all kind of
people. All is about the somras and the Neelkanth were the main storyline
revolves around.
It
is one of the books which must be read. Overall the book is commercial
thrillers were in each scene the suspense is allow to grow and keep the readers
guessing the next scene. The clues given to Shiva by Vasudev Pandits makes us
understand the life and our surroundings we are related to. Most lines can be
applicable to our present lives. The books are awesome and interesting to read.
The Secret of Nagas is the most interesting book of the three were most of the
secrets are revealed. Amish portray Shiva and Sati in the best ways possible. The
narrative style with simple English giving the pause at the right places makes
the book as the wonderful one.
Conclusion :This
trilogy is great if you like Indian mythology; well written it is an enjoyable
read.
My
favourite lines:
- The opposite of Love is not hate, it is apathy.
- What do you think a person who is giving all this in her transactions with society wants in return? - ‘Respect’
- She gets many things from the people who love her. What she doesn’t get is what she craves the most — Respect.
